PURPLE WEDDING FLOWERS
Purple is a wonderful colour - pretty and feminine, and can shade down to be rich, deeper and mysterious.
It has equal tones of red and blue, so blends well with other palettes, and is a perfect colour harmony opposite to yellow.
We have done mixed purple bouquets, purple and lavender, purple and pink, purple and white weddings, purple and yellow, purple and lime green, purple and red bouquets- as you can see, it goes with any colour of bridesmaids dress!
Remember too - If you are having Purple Bridesmaids dresses, then you could go for purple and lavender tones, or any of the above blends to contrast.
I would love to talk with you about your purple wedding - you are welcome to contact me with any questions. Wedding Designer - Jo
We often get asked for Purple roses -
In New Zealand we have available:
Ocean Song which is light lavender,
Cool water which is more mauve and
a good laster, delilah which is again more mauve, but very pretty, and Blueboy.
The best purple rose, is not a rose at all!
We use purple eustoma or lisianthus,
which is that Pefect dark Cadbury purple
and looks like a ruffley double rose!
Lasts well and available from November
to May (N.Z.)

We were very honoured (& excited!) to be chosen
as the florist for Rugby League star Robbie Paul's wedding featured in Woman's Day magazine.
Natalie and Robbie chose a purple theme throughout their day. Robbie's buttonhole is a purple lisianthus with a touch of hydrangea to match her bouquet. For more pictures and detail on this wedding please visit our facebook page.
I loved making Natalie's bouquet - pretty and purple all the way. Lisianthus, ocean song roses, hydrangea, alaska roses and a touch of pearl detail to highlight.
These were the most amazingly deep purple
lisianthus which were exactly what the bride
was looking for! For the bridesmaids posies
we went for a mix of purple, ivory and lilac
lisianthus to blend with the shades of purple in Maria's palette.
Hi Jo, I have attached some photos for you of the lovely bouquets you did for my wedding on 3rd March. I was really impressed with all the flowers especially my bouquet which was perfect!
I got so many positive comments about it throughout the day and the days to follow.
The buttonholes were fantastic too and the gypsophila looked great in our flowergirls hair.
Thanks again. Maria
Trailing bouquet in ivory, purple lisianthus and white lisianthus iwth purple tips mixed with Alaska Roses. I adore lisianthus!
Catherine contacted me from Japan to organise her
flowers - Lavender was very sentimental to her and
so were carnations in memory of loved ones.
We were coming to the end of the lavender season so we went with a mix of dried lavender and what fresh lavender we could get, with green berries as a collar - heavenly fragrance! Bridesmaid's bouquets were a mix of carnations, lavender and berries.
Joshinta's bouquet was White akito roses with maines blue, accented with crystals - for the finishing touch we used some purple beads to highlight the focal roses,
BModern and stylish -Picasso calla lillies, akito roses, tracellium, viburnum berries, and bear grass. For more pictures of this wedding at Castaways please see here.
I loved Natalya's posy! Ocean song roses, alaska roses, succulents, mixed with purple tracellium. So pretty and textural - the bridesmaids wore turquoise, so a very pretty palette.
For the bride we used soft and subtle ocean song roses, made into a traditional trailing bouquet. Bridesmaids carried cool water roses, which were warm and tonal against their dresses.
